hi - i got one of those wireless charging console lids and i'm trying to hardwire it, which of course requires removal of the center console rear panel. all the vids i've seen -- including from the maker of the console lid -- indicate that you can just remove the two t20 bolts near the hinges for the lid and pop the back panel out. i've done so and it of course loosens up the rear panel, but i cannot for the life of me get it to pop off all the way it feels almost like there's something else fastening in place. i've tried working around the edge with a trim tool but no luck there, and i've pulled on it as hard as i'm comfortable pulling.

i did notice this little hole beneath the window buttons on the back of the console -- it almost looks like a release latch or something (stick a screw driver up there to pop a clip loose), but i can't get a good enough angle on it to really tell, and i don't want to just go around jamming things in unknown holes (a good policy in life more generally..). attached is a pic in case anyone can confirm if that hole is somehow involved.

anyway -- i guess my question is: has anyone successfully gotten the back panel off on a 2024 gladiator (mojave x if it makes a difference), and if so -- can anyone confirm whether there's something else j need to do other than remove the two t20s near the hinges, which was all that was required at least as of a few years ago?

anyone in the same point - i finally got this panel off. the method has not changed -- still just the two t20 screws. you just gotta pull surprisingly hard the first time taking it off because the four tension clips are in there pretty good.

and fyi -- that little hole appears to be a light. mine wasn't seated right so i couldn't see it when trying to figure it out. i got it seated right when i had the panel off. not clear to me when it is supposed to come on / if it's working, but that appears to be what it is.
