I want to install a USB outlet on the top of my dash. I have the 67 Designs series 55 rail in the center, and want to add USB. With the rail in the way, I can’t use that tray area. So, how do you remove the daylight sensor? Why do I care about the daylight sensor? Because it’s mounted in a small panel that has a sister panel on the passenger side of the top tray. I want to remove that “blank” piece and put my USB outlets there.

Has anyone removed this, or does anyone have knowledge about how to remove that piece?

That piece will pop out with a trim tool. There is a single screw below it holding down the windshield vent trough IIRC.
