Okay so obviously there's a screw in this... It was slowly leaking to about 24 psi and I couldn't find out why (somehow) and I bring it in and they see this immediately.. I had tire insurance so I just got a new one but this tire has 2,800 miles on it... the thing is brand new. If you can patch it, you've got a $375 (plus tax) tire...
"You can patch it and keep it as a spare" I know. And I would. If I had the room. But I have 5 matching rims and tires (these tires) already and I am moving out of state and don't have room to haul another tire.
"This is too far on the sidewall to patch" No it is not. The tire company may have not wanted to risk it.... but I assure you, it is not. I have known many to patch on the middle of the sidewall even, it can and WILL hold. Even if just for an 'emergency' spare. If you disagree, I do not care, but just move along you do not need to voice your opinion on this matter.
Pick up in Laguna Beach. $200. This is a steal.
