Crossbar length with topper?

New here so forgive me if this has been covered I couldn’t find it using the search function. Got the Venturous Ozark topper and added some small (55”) Yakima HD bars but not sure if I should go with the medium 60” bars. I like the the 55” bars pretty much just line up with the top of the topper but not sure if I would need more overhang for anything in the future. Right now just going to put a paddle board up there but may get an awning and/or RTT down the road. Is 55” wide enough for that? Do I need more overhang to mount an awning?
