I just picked up a 2022 JTRD and drove it from Oklahoma to Fort Worth. At the end of the day yesterday I got in it and backed it into the garage. This morning, I jumped in and it is unresponsive. Like it’s been remotely shut down. Done light won’t come on, ignition button doesn’t do anything.
Can’t the battery really be dead? I’m waiting on roadside tow to get here but I don’t have a clue as to why it’s DEAD. Should I try jumping?

Check your terminals. You can jump it.

Too bad you don't have a cheap Walmart $20 volt meter to put on the battery terrninals.
Yes, they can be dead - actually, these will cease to respond when the voltage drops to a certain point where an older car would at least respond with some lights and the cluster would show something. These have a low voltage cut-off point. Get below that and she shuts down everything, lights included.

You can jump it - but when you get it started, understand you'll still actually need to charge and have both batteries checked.
Sometimes when the aux battery, the small one in the right wheel well area, goes south, it'll drain the main or crank battery.

Jump as you would any other vehicle. But don't rely on the charging system to make things right again.

Batteries, both, at a minimum, should be fully charged and load tested. Likely one is bad - but with your 2022, that would be weird.

Well, just a quick update:

It's sitting at the dealership right now in the service department. It was set up on some system that takes 3 hours to test the electrical system. The main battery went through a 3-hour test and deep cycle charge and all was well. They did the same for the aux battery as well. All is good. Weird glitch to have if I must say so myself. It got to the point after I started it, that the UConnect screen would go out and not even power on. Hopefully, it was just a cruddy batter.......

Now that they have the JT anyways, it's there getting a Mopar lift, 37's, Teraflex Nomads along with LOD armor.

At least you aren't wasting a trip!

Iv'e seen the criteria for battery testing - if any dealer takes your JT in and then 30 minutes later says all is fine - tell them they are full of it. That testing takes TIME. They have quite a thing to go through before even starting any real testing. Like you said- charging, scanning VIN and battery numbers, the equipment setup. It's very specific and it's not in my hands right now but I seem to recall the paper on battery testing is something like 3 or 4 pages long.
