Ended up going with the dealer an hour away. They only wanted $1,000 dollar deposit. I know it goes toward the Jeep but man 5k is just nuts.

I put 10% down on order. I do not mind. The dealer had at full lot of Gladiators I did not want. No Gladiators within 500 miles with leather and a manual transmission and everything else I wanted... dealer was afraid of having an odd-ball to sell if I backed out. So I ordered it exactly as I wanted and the down payment is done.
