I bought my 2020 Rubicon a few weeks ago with the intention that this is my new fishing/exploration rig. I had the Rod Vault and have been driving myself insane trying to find a bed rack to install it on. The only real criteria I had was it had to fit a tonneau with bonus points for being aluminum. I had it narrowed down to three brands then somehow this one showed up on FB Marketplace.
It’s a Dissent Offroad rack and was on a 2016 Tacoma. I know quite a few manufacturers racks would fit either brand so I went to look at it. Some quick measurements and figuring out I’d have to make at least one modification and it came home with me for a steal. I simply had to cut the rearmost tab off each side and boom a nearly perfect fit. I’m going to run it this way for a while then send it to my friend that does powder coating for a fresh look. I put the trifold tonneau (I hate it) the truck came with back on it until I can get a new roll up. It obviously won’t fold open but for now it will be fine. If anyone knows where I might be able to pick up the doors from Dissent I’m interested. I saw pictures of the Gladiator they fit but that was it, no information. Maybe I have the only other one.
