DIY Mudflaps

Hi. I was looking for very heavy duty mudflaps. Lots of ugly slush and snow up this way in northern Minnesota, not to mention bog-you-down mud as the dirt roads start to get soupy from melting snow and ice. Maybe there are solid ones out there, but I designed and built these mudflaps from 1/4" aluminum bar, two short pieces of 3" aluminum angle (1/4" thick), stainless fasteners, and a 1/4" thick semi-tractor mudflap (cut from a single mudflap that was 24" x 30"). Finished size for each side is approx 14" x 20" as shown. They give adequate room for oversize tires, with 10" above the payment at the bottom of each mudflap. (You off-road guys could make them removable.) They do the job and keep the rear bumper from filling with snow, slush and mud. The pics are self-explanatory. Hope it's helpful.

Moved them to my white JT

Now trying to figure out how I going to mount the rears, maybe using one of these type of splash guard sets.
