1st trip towing my new Flagstaff E-Pro 19 FD up and down Arizona mountains went better than expected. I started on Az state route 260, then SR87 to SR188 from Show Low, elevation 6735', to Roosevelt Lake, elevation 2500' and 145 miles distant. Two major grades of 6 to 7% enroute and climbed to 7600'. On route I got 14.1 mpg getting to Cholla campground and on the return trip I managed 10.0 mpg giving me a 12.0 mpg average overall. On the long steep grade from Rye to Payson, I went up running 60-65 mph in 3rd gear spinning the 3.6 Pentastar at 5000 to 5500 RPMs. The motor pulled well with no issues. Truck was loaded to almost 6000 lbs. for a gross weight of 10,000 lbs. and the rig handled very well through the many curves. The 3.6 is a short stroke motor and produces good power at high RPMs without straining the spinning parts. I have confidence taking this rig on any trip.
