Love my RTT, but I refuse to drive around with it mounted all the time.
Went to pull it off and store it for a bit. Started backing off the mounting bolts they got half way and then spun freely. I had to use vise grips on the bolts to get the lock nuts off.
Once they were free from the channel it was just as I had suspected. The hex head had eaten away at the aluminum. This was not on install, but on removal. I was able to back the nuts 1/2 and then they just spun.
Went and got a square head and I am hoping it will solve the issue. Anyone else see this?

I had this same exact issue with my ROAM Vagabond RTT. I ended up reaching out to ROAM, sending them a photo of them, and they sent me two new ones (after I paid them $20 I think it was).

However ROAM does have amazing customer service. My cover zipper had ripped & they sent me a replacement for free! Can't beat that!
