Max Modular Bed Rack with Smittybuilt Gen2 Overlander XL

Just received an email that my Jeep has arrived and I’m looking to complete my build plans. I’m looking to run the max modular bed rack at 10” as it seems to be one of the only racks that will work with the factory tonneau cover. I’d like to get the overlander XL as well. I cant seem to find anyone running this setup. I’d like some pics to see how much the RTT will hang off the back. I want to ensure it doesnt create any issues for me. Also, is there any other racks i should be looking at? I’d like to keep the rack low as to not create more drag on this brick of a truck.

Aside from a rack, have you considered cross bars such as Billie Bars? JCR also makes a rack that’s compatible with at least some soft tonneau covers, but I don’t know specifically about the OEM one.

I just submitted a question to the JCR guys, so I’ll find out about their figment. I havent considered the Billie Bars, but that could definitely work. I’ll look into that more. Thanks for the suggestion.

For anyone wondering in the future the JCR rack will not work with the Mopar rollup tonneau.

Wanted to throw these pics in the thread in case anyone comes here looking for guidance on a potential setup. Tent extends past outside of tailgate ~8" which is about the same as my ball/skid plate. Had to fab some brackets and get longer hardware to mount to ~2" deep by ~4" wide crossbars as the hardware SB provided wouldn't fit my rack. Rack is from Hooke Road and was made for a 3rd gen Tacoma but lightly modified to fit the Gladiator.

Hey how did this turn out? Any pictures of the half-rack with the annex? I am trying to decide between the regular and XL. Also any details on the hardware mod? I have an ace upper decker so likely the same mounting problem.

Did you end up with the regular or the XL? Any thoughts? I'm in the same boat. XL seems too big to me, but I would love to have the space.

I went with the XL. I didn't leave the tent up for more than a week at a time so preferred having it be most functional for camping over looking just right. Also full disclosure I sold my gladiator and got a bronco so I’m all over the place.
