I installed 35 inch Nittos on my JT gladiator and went to see how much my speedometer was off by comparing it to my speedometer phone app. To my surprise, the speedometer was spot on with 35 inch tires. The question is does the Rubicon model come pre-calibrated for 35 inch tires from the factory? I installed the new wheels and tires after about 50 miles on the JT. Seems rather odd. Any similar experiences out there?

Thanks guys..

Luv the new JT thus far.

I just installed 35" tires last Friday on my Rubicon and at 50 its off by 2-3 and at 70 its off by 4-5.

Im using a radar detector that has gps and shows speed and also the WAZE app on my phone. Radar and phone match exactly and did before the tire change, but now both dash speedometers are off... the speedo needle and the digital one in the middle on screen #1. Ive got a call into the dealer to set up to bring it in to recalibrate.

Very strange that mine is not in fact off. If I wasn't lazy, I would put the stock tires back on to see if the speedometer is not a couple of MPH faster.

Great reason to buy a Tazer and unlock all the other Rubicon goodies that are nerfed from the factory!

Like what?? I am intrigued.. I have OBD JScan for JK, but need to buy security bypass module to be able to use it (already tried hacking).

Hmmm, my two favorite are the swaybar disconnects in 2Hi up to 30 MPH, and the rear locker in 2Hi. Front & rear locker in 4Hi are good, too. It plugs into the security bypass plug and lives there. Oh, yeah, and saving state for AutoStart - I don't like it, at ALL, and haven't had to tap the button in over a month. Bunch of other stuff, too, like keeping the fogs on when hi-beams are on, this, that and the other. For $330 I'm pretty happy. If I wind up getting a set of 37" muds, it will make swapping speedo calibrations cake. WAY faster to do than the Hypertech I had for my H2 (which was >$400).
