Hacking touchscreen for streaming/video?

Not sure if asking this is allowed… but has anyone heard about being able to stream/watch videos via the dash screen? The camera is so clear it has to be possible? Ex. Almost all new cars in Japan can stream via CarPlay or apps.

A few years ago I used an Android app that enabled me to play all of my apps on the screen. No other hack or dongle was needed. I'd have to poke around to see if I could fine it again. It was pretty handy, but I didn't bother with it after changing phones and vehicles.
