Hanging, unconnected wire harness by rear bumper, 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

This wire harness is just hanging down under the rear bumper, driver’s side. Wondering if it is supposed to be hooked up to something or is just unused. Gladiator Rubicon, 2021. I have had a Alucab Canopy Camper installed, so perhaps it was associated with the tailgate?? My rear camera was relocated and is working so I don’t think that is it.
I have since covered it with electrical tape.

Do you have the towing package, and the associated connections on your rear bumper?

Since the rear view camera connection is right next to it, I'm going to suggest it's the connection for the third brake light on the tailgate.

I do have the trailer tow package. Kevman65’s suggestion of the 3rd brake light makes sense as I no longer have that.

and Thanks for the feedback! I always wondered if it just came off. My backup sensors are inop but I just had it at the shop and they say its the sensor wiring harness and they ordered me one but they have no clue as to when it will show up.
