Installed the Phoenix 12.1 touch screen - works great but call quality is bad bad bad.

Has anyone who installed this product figured out how to fix it, or even if it can be fixed?

What I have tried
- disabled internal mic and added an external mic
- worked with their customer support but they couldnt make it better
- blocked all internal microphones on the unit
- tweaked the boosts and gains

I feel like this is just a limitation of the unit and my choices are going to be to return it, or just deal with it.
