(I don't mean to be the officall announcer for KBVoodoo, but I'm stoked to share about my purhcase)
After doing months of researching racks (especially those compatible with tonneau covers), I've finally narrowed down the bed rack choice for my JT Sport S- And it's a brand new KBVooDoo bed rack called "VRS" the " Voodoo Rail System" : https://www.kbvoodoo.com/vrs-bed-racks :
The rack has an assortment of sizes and accessories. I went with the cab height 22" version - but the builds are endless with their accessories: https://www.kbvoodoo.com/vrs-bed-rack-accessories
These next photos of the JT is not mine, but from KB's own with the 18" version:
First of all I wanted to give a shout out to the staff at KbVooDoo fabrications as I probably had the longest email chain spanning a few months regarding a bed rack setup with a tonneau. I'm sure it gets old when people keep asking about the same stuff "will my tonneau work, open, etc". But KB answered all questions (and fast, was very responsive). Not only were they great with communication - they gave me a special discount code to use for $75 off which tied in perfectly as I ordered right around my birthday!
I currently use a RC low profile tri fold tonneau which I purchased shortly after buying m JT. It was a great price, and has been perfect for keeping all of my gear safe and secure - and better yet, completely out of the elements here in WI. Rain, snow, car washes - the bed stays dry.
I've been looking into a bed rack as I'd like to slowly get into overlanding - but to also use to help carry watercrafts and camping gear.
I went back and forth between KBVooDoo and TRUKD as they seemed like the top 2 companies that made compatible racks with tonneau covers - but KBvooDoo won out as I prefer the look of their full size rack compared to the TRUKD bed rack.
Now, I don't want to stray people away from the TRUKD brand (https://gettrukd.com/collections/jeepgladiatorbedrack) - Ben has an awesome thing going for them over there and is also super responsive and helpful. That rack can move from 24.5in down to 18.5in....
With the VRS I will lose the functionality of folding back my tonneau cover panels which is the downfall to most tri folds - but I can live with that. If I need to haul anything huge, the VRS rack comes off in only six bolts attached to the bed. And being as I went with the aluminum version - it is only 70#'s to lift off. Who knows, maybe someday I'll invest into a rolling tonneau or retractable, but for now I'll be fine...
Anyway, I will for sure post pictures once my rack shows up and I install it, but I wanted others to get the chance to check them out as I don't believe they've been around on the JT forums quite yet to share..
Thanks again, (and sorry to the KB boys if I'm stealing your thunder sharing ths)
