During my drive into working at 8:30am on old yelm highway near Lacey Washington, I went around the roundabout to turn to meridian rd, road condition is a two lane residential road, flat and 40 mph. I was in second gear around the roundabout at 2000rpms going 15 mph, as I straightened out the truck I slowly accelerated from 2000rpms to about 2800rpms going 25-35mph and then shifted from second gear to third. During the shift clutch in and clutch out no throttle and before or during resumption or gas; a loud ping and dong sound like a bolt being dropped from a few feet up and hitting a piece of metal tubing before contacting the ground. I thought it was the transmission linkage, looking behind the truck on the road in my mirror i saw nothing. I decided to pull over and look better, shifting felt fine no indications in the center display. Engine was still running without noise. Then i saw the oil psi light come on, I rolled forward a little and the steering got tight, so I shutdown the engine and inspected the bottom, no oil was leaking and I found a hole on what should be the area of the #2 piston about the size of a quarter above where the reservoir sits.
I decided to not re install the supercharger after replacement of the engine to go back to a warrantied truck. The expense of the install was too much to reconsider lighting striking twice, it’s a daily driver and we go on camping trips didn’t want to hassle with the possibility.
Loved the truck setup with the supercharger the usable power made it better than a 1500, pulled the 4000 lbs trailer a few times and man 3rd gear was Awsome. I never high rev’d the engine didn’t have to, drive the car like a jeep. My set up is 35’s and a two in lift on the manual rubicon gladiator, love the truck to much to change it.
Lots of attached pics, I’ll pay for shipping asking 3500$ I’m including my ECM that was unlocked it is tagged with my VIN.
