Hey guys ripped this thing apart like a tweaker in an electrical box does any of this look excessively worn? There’s some play between the sun and planets that id put right on the brink of excessive? The carrier thrust washer wear? I can feel the grooves with my finger tip. Something in my drivetrain has been howling at 30-75mph on or off throttle had my differentials both completely rebuilt and reinspected and was told my t-case sounded like an engine with no oil so naturally I ripped into it this was my findings

I am dealing with the same howling between 40 and 65 mph?

Interested to hear how this works out.

Hey man I see you have an automatic is it possible maybe this weekend for you to pop your rear shaft off the t-case flange and spin the unit possibly with an impact with your transmission in neutral and send it to me to see if we’re actually having the same issue?

Do you think it will have the same effect just spining it with an impact in neutral and not being under a load?

I started to notice it at 30,000 miles. I’m at 65,000 miles now and it has gotten louder.

Mine was audible with no load and spinning it by hand the faster I spun it with my Milwaukee impact the louder it was

Just a finding in this process the rear output shaft bearing is a 6207 bearing if you feel like replacing it through jeep for Chinese parts that are $80+ bearing my guest but you can buy a timken for $25 so there’s that

Finally got the new parts it’s been about a month now here’s the old vs new the biggest thing that I noticed was that the old input shaft splines were dang near at a point whereas the new were machined flat let’s hope this does the trick I’m gonna update more as I assemble
