Some 15 years ago I took my dad's 05 VW Touareg out to some easy trails in our area. Mostly dirt roads with a couple puddles and climbs along the way. It was the car that sparked my interest in offroading and eventually led me to buying my first Jeep. My dad has kept it over the years, mostly as an extra vehicle and lately it's just been sitting.
I currently commute with a 95 Mercedes C280. It does the job, but a 10 years newer daily just sounded more appealing. It needed a new battery and some wheels/tires (oem wheels were corroding from inside and as a result constantly losing air). I purchased a set of 701 Methods they have on clearance and wrapped them in a used set of 32" KM2s from a Willys Gladiator. Plan is to get a roof rack (looking at you @Hooke Road®, check your eBay account
) and throw my RTT and awning on it.
