I think this is the most appropriate forum for this, but please move if it's not.

This weekend, I worked a deal on a 2021 Gladiator that Jeep shows on the website to be "In Transit" to the dealer.
During the negotiations, the dealership showed me some type of invoice document to prove what a wonderful deal I was getting. At the top of the document, it shows it is coming from "Toledo I" and the Invoice Dt. was on 1/28/21.
Does anyone know if this "Invoice Dt." would mean it shipped on that date, was born on that date, started to be built on that date. or whatever else?

An Invoice Date is usually when it gets sent to the buyer, in this case the dealership and you. The truck was probably built, I’m going to guess somewhere around 01/17/2021. There are a lot of other posts with more knowledge on the whole process from ordering-building on the line - shipping so please don’t take my response as gospel.

Thanks, Jack!
I'm sure this is answered deep down in another post in this forum, but I couldn't find a fitting answer in a search.
If it actually hit the road on 1/28, I should be in pretty good shape to get it soon. Toledo to Nashville isn't that far, but it may be going Dallas for all I know. $1,495 to ship a vehicle is a little steep in my estimation.

$1495 is their standard destination charge, regardless of how far it actually goes. It is a fixed fee.

Transit takes longer than one might imagine based on distance. It includes time sitting in the railyard at Toledo, loading on a unit train (all the railcars have same cargo and all going to same destination), rail transit, unloading at at destination railyard, waiting on truck, loading, and truck transport to your dealer.

For me in SW Florida, it took over two weeks. Yours might be a bit shorter.

The VIN number on the invoice as well as the tag will show the month of manufacture, in the eleventh position. It is in code A-L, translating to January through December. My 11th position indicates "L" for December. Additionally, the VIN plate, at the bottom, shows "MDH" which stands for the Month, Day, and Hour that it came off the assembly line. Mine is 121702, indicating that it was manufactured December 17th at 0200 hours. (Man, I worked midnight shift for a couple of years, this cold be a problem, lol). Additionally, at the top of the VIN tag is a "Date of MFR - Built". Mine shows a date of 12-20, which means December of 2020.

It had been on the dealer website since Christmas, but hadn't been delivered. I made the deal on January 2nd, and it arrived on January 5.

True story. I still can’t fathom why the destination charge is the same across the board in the continental US but it is what it is. I’m willing to bet dollars to pesos that you’ll probably have it on the lot on Wednesday or Thursday the latest. Congrats on the deal made. I’m waiting for my factory build Freedom Edition to be scheduled so I’m looking closer in March.

The VIN for mine also shows "L" in the 11th spot of the VIN.
