Just playing devils advocate, but you did cause the damage.
Painted plastic surfaces and pressure washers don't mix. Only takes a pin hole in the paint for water to get behind and peel that paint off in sheets. The years I worked for Jaguar we sent plenty of cars to the body shop because detail blew the paint off bumpers. Jags, BMW's, Mercedes, Astin Martin's. Brand matters not.
