Is this normal? Or dangerous? The tires have about 8,000 miles and a fair bit of wheeling. This is the worst of them, but there are several lugs and other features completely missing or severely damaged. The discount tire guys are earning every bit of that $20 lifetime maintenance keeping these balanced.

Time to pull that tire out of rotation (literally). How much meat is in the carcass where that lug tore off? I would run it on the rear axle at the very least. What a mess.

That’s roughly where mine are. Do yours look dry rotted at all?
. The tread is soft - almost as soft as they day I got them at Walmart in January. I've run mine daily since January. They don't have any chips, no cuts, and they get used frequently. I haven't taken them on any hard trails yet and the Gladiator gets garaged, so very little UV rays. Regardless, I'm replacing these 38s with 39.5" BFGs when the first lug begins to fall off.
