How are you guys liking this unit? The only thing that bugs me is it shows some generic car in some of the screens. I almost pulled the plug on the alpine restyle but it's a bit steep at $2300. I'm also not a fan of the stinger or insane audio.

My apologies if this is a stupid question but does this have a screen saver aspect to it or can I upload a pic to have as the background of the main screen?

curious because I am building out my gladiator and a vertical screen like this is perfect.

I did what @billfraley did and downloaded an app that allows u to change up the background and layout for free. Can pay a lil bit and have extra features, but I'm satisfied with the free version. He listed the different apps earlier in the thread.

So far I like it, but there is a learning curve. I've only had mine for a couple days so I am by no means an expert on it. Nothing like a new piece of tech to make me feel old and dumb, but it seems to be ok. You can change the wallpaper and car that shows up on there and, I guess, pretty much everything else.

Mine has a couple of issues I'm still working through....first is that the speedometer on the head unit isn't working. The RPMs gauge is but not the speedometer, which is weird. I don't necessarily care to have that on there anyways so I'm looking for a way to remove it completely but haven't found one yet.

the 2nd is a little more annoying, and I found this out while driving around yesterday....seems like every few minutes it turns the radio app on for no reason. I'll be tooling down the road listening to spotify or a podcast, then all of a sudden the radio app will open and start playing, pushing android auto to the background. It's an easy enough fix, I just have to hit the back arrow and everything goes back to normal but it seems to happen every few minutes. I'm about to take a 10-hour drive down to Florida this weekend, and I'm not looking forward to having to hit the 'back' button every 5-10 minutes for the whole trip, so this should be interesting.

I would suggest sending an email to Phoenix Automotive. They will probably ask for a video, but that is not normal behavior. It may require and update or replacement.

do they offer other pictures of cars and trucks or you find your own and upload them to replace the stock one?

I think you need to find your own and add it manually.

Yeah, I'm going to do that and see what they say. Here's a question for you, because I can't figure it out. I'm trying to permanently change away from the default launcher. I can add a new launcher, but every time I hit the home button it goes back to the stock screen. Have you figured out how to this?

Attached is what the stock screen looks like right now (changed the background and vehicle to a gladiator) and what I want to change it to.

I guess the most important thing is I just want to get rid of the gauge widgets, so if I can't change the launcher, did you find any way to get rid of those?

Update: OK, I figured out how to change the default launcher (you have to go to settings --> Apps -->Launcher3 and then it will give you the options to change your launcher. I'd still like to know how to remove the widgets from the stock launcher, though, if anyone knows).

I got the SC7862 with max Memory. I've heard the PX6 is garbage.....but there's also a 3rd party firmware available for it for about $100 (sergey firmware, I believe) that supposedly makes it amazing.
