I have the Alpine but did add one of the Kicker powered 10” to complement the 8” sub.

I have owned three FCA Alpine equipped vehicles. They were all three RAM trucks though. It isn’t terrible for stock. The problem in the Jeep is when the top is down. You really need an amp powered system to hear it well while driving topless. I didn’t really feel a need to upgrade that system in the previous vehicles. I specifically didn’t want the Alpine in the Jeep because I wanted to put a full system in it.

I can say their shipping is slow…. I have not heard of a shipping date in (4) days. I also sent (2) emails asking for a shipping date or tracking number with no response.

Well ot came and i am NOT happy. Got it all wored but the screen will NOT come on. The AC works but the radio appears dead.
Man i am a tad pissed at nearly midnight while triple checking to make sure it was not me.

Well…damn. Appears i blew the radio 20 amp fuse under the hood. That appears to be my issue…. Will address in the morning and report back.

then i have to reinstall it all again!!!!!

That is better than having to deal with a return. I hope that it the end of it.

Issue:

i plig my Iphone into a USB, it gets power to charge but i can NOT use the GPS…phone etc…. I did NOT ise the moc setup or sim card attachments as I thought the factory would work…

trying to figure this out now.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. But, you have to do one of three things for you to have internet connectivity.

1) use your phone hotspot
2) use wireless CarPlay or android auto via USB
3) use a SIM card with a carrier that works. I know that Ultra Mobile is a workable option

You cannot use USB for an iPhone and CarPlay. The USB also does not play iPhone music.

You also need to go into the settings and set the mic to OEM. I forget exactly where this was. Either factory settings or the vehicle settings app.

Is there something I am missing here?

when my iphone is attached via USB there is no map loading on the Phoenix screen for GPS.

Phone also does not use vehicle nicrophone -(you stated activate OEM mic) will try and find that setting

If i put a standard Thumbdrive in with music IT DOES recognize my music and plays.

Ok, so the only way you can use and control your phone on the screen is with CarPlay or android auto. The app is called carlink 2.0. You can also mirror your phone, but not that great of an option. You cannot use USB with an iPhone for anything other than charging. I believe this is because e of the security requirements Apple has for usb connections.

Also, to be clear, you have to connect your iPhone via Bluetooth, then connect with carlink and it will use wireless CarPlay. There is no usb CarPlay.

I don’t recall off the top of my head. I believe it is something like CarBT. But, you can open the Bluetooth screen, then go to settings and it shows the name and code there.

It has been a while since I first setup CarPlay. You have to wait for the verification and you should get a pop up on your phone to allow permission.

I will go check for the mic setting. I just got out of a work meeting.
