My driver side rear window defogger wire/tab came off again all by itself. I had the back glass replaced under warranty and the wire came off by itself. The wire was reattached until it came off again. I tried the permatex repair kits with no resolve. I cleaned up the wire tip with a dremel to get a good contact and scraped off the old solder from the window but inadvertently removed the metal the wire mounts to so now you can see through the window. Is there anywhere I can mount the wire and get good contact for the defogger wires to get power or am I screwed? My window started leaking again last December and didnt want to deal with dealer so I just put rubber trim in the gap and had no leaks. The glass was replaced under factory warranty and I am out of factory warranty but have an extended warranty. Shouldnt the glass be covered under the factory warranty? Even if its not it should be covered under my extended. $100 deductible might be the only way to get my defogger working again. 1 day to water test and say yes its leaking and another day to have glass replaced. My dealer is bad about calling when my vehicle is ready, thats why I didnt take it back for the leak.
