I read through all the posts of Rubicon owners mounting the Curt front receiver on their Rubicons for plowing purposes, which included having a machine shop cut a hole in the skid plate; however, there is not a lot of information on how it attaches.

I don’t have specific attachments to the OEM skid plate, I just want something to protect the wiring underneath the plate. Anyone have any work arounds or suggestions?

Any specific modifications to the skid plate mounts needed?

There are TWO Rubicon skid plates.
One is for the stock plastic bumper
The other is for use with the Rubicon MOPAR steel bumper.
You need brackets to attach both skid plates - the plate for the steel bumper screws to the bottom of the steel bumper and on the bottom or rear, there's brackets bolted to the frame.
For the skid plate for the plastic bumper, you need 4 brackets.
The skid plates come without brackets.

Here is the bracket you need for either skid plate - I had to trim the skid plate bracket to clear the receiver, so there's only one bolt holding it in place (silver/gray bolt head)
