By resecting the backside of the bracket, I was able to move the box 5/8 inch forward. No need to add spacer between the bumper and frame horns.

Great idea, I get the concept, but do you mind explaining a little how you did it and how it has worked out for you?

Great idea. I gave up and just relocated mine to the left side. My winch plate mounting location just had it sitting right against my grille. Plenty of space now.
