So I have a Jeep Beach wich is basically a Willys and all Ive done is put 33" BFG tires and a Terraflex 1.5" front level kit. I have gone off road and was thinking on installing a sway bar disconnect. So my question is, will it work with only that level kit and tire setup? Jist looking for a bit more flex while off roading but want to make sure the my set up can handle it. Most sway bars I see start at 2" and not sure if that will work witn my Gladdy.

Hi Ed,

I have a very similar set up: Jeep Sport (non-MaxTow), upgraded tires (35" MT Baja Boss AT), 1.5" Teraflex leveler kit. I just added the Teraflex quick disconnect kit. That kit is good for 0-4.5" (or 0-6" depending on which literature you reference).

Based on my experience, this should work for you with the caveat that you might encounter some tire rub. See this post for how that sway bar kit affected my set up and how to fix. I think if my Jeep had the MaxTow option (or the side lugs on the tires were slightly less aggressive), the axles would have been just wide enough to avoid the rub using the stock rims. My resolution was to add Synergy wheel spacers (and very slightly trim the plastic air damn).

To mitigate the rub at full flex after the say bar disconnects you need to install some longer bump stops. These are what stop your axel from contacting your fenders and body. Besides longer control arms, longer springs these are what are included in a lift kit without having to do one.

I installed Apex disconnects on Sports S. I had to install wheel spacers but they work flawless, just turn the knob and go
