So has anyone gone about painting wheels at all? I know some people have done plastidip on the wheels but there's no way I'm going to go that route. While it's cheaper I've heard it looks like trash and doesn't last long. I was thinking of powder coating my Sport S's disgusting silver wheels to black but was wondering if powder-coating is the best way to go? I would buy new wheels if they weren't so expensive so painting them really seems like the easiest and cheapest option. Is there something else that I can look into for this?

Powdercoat looks nice will last a long time and is supper scratch resistant but once it does get scratched its harder to fix and its also expensive... in my opinion i would get some nice paint, sand and paint them so you dont have to look at the silvers (i hate them also, not the wheels just the color) and then around Christmas get some wheels on sale. I got a set i really like in cyber monday for just a little more than it would cost to powder coat them

I got a quote of $450 to powder coat my wheels. I feel like staying cheap with paint and plasti-dip wouldn’t be my favorite option. If these wheels weren’t 7.5 wide I would do it, but I want to get wider wheels when I go 35s. $450 is a hell of a lot better than $800-1000 for new wheels if you want to go that route.

Depends on requirements, powder coating is very durable, however virtually impossible to color match to your truck exactly (white & black doesn't count). If you are looking into something like that, IE the jeep gladiator wayout look, then have a good body shop give it a couple coats from factory paint (after proper prepping) with a couple extra layers of clear coat for extra protection down the road.

Just black :) I'm not trying to match my Gator. I also need to see if Jeep minds if I do that to the wheels since my Gladiator is leased. Don't want to get charged for new wheels when I turn in because I painted them.

If its leased, id think you would be fined for it, probably safer to just buy a set of secondary wheels and keep the orig for when you return them.

Where are you located? I’ll be able to sell my silver wheels in a few weeks. Super cheap just to get them out of the way haha

It does look nice but I'm not sure I have the patience to do that, mine would look terrible.

I’m in GA. Maybe someone else has some closer. I see them pop up all the time.
