I have updated my topper and since Christmas time I'm installing a TMAT system to try out for the back of my truck... made a video to show the changes to the topper, and the addition of the TMAT!

I'm not surprised you decided to get a smaller diesel heater from that 8k one. I've got a 2k one heating a 325 sqft cabin it's about to run me out even. I bought it to replace the propane heater in my travel trailer. I like the think outside of big bucks camping stores. I just happened to research some things at the right time to get a deal on some things. The T-mat in bed is handy, I don't think I seen it before. The satisfaction of doing or making things yourself is priceless. Great setup and job you have done.

How well do you think it would work if I split the tmat into two pieces? I’d keep the fridge on the passenger side and gear boxes on the drivers side. Just figured it would work better to be able to slide them out separately since the fridge is a lot of weight. I wouldn’t be able to reach boxes at the back if I could only slide the entire thing to the end of the tailgate, if that makes any sense.

I had thought about doing that as well. The step would be an irreversible one if you wanted the two sides to sit tight- they have locking "keys" that would need to be shaved off one side if you wanted them to remain close. That would prevent them from ever being locked together- it would always be two sections. It could be done. And you could make it fit tight if you took those locking tabs off of one side.

I have an ARB w/ an ARB slide, both together and full of…well everything, it’s really heavy, i have mine anchored down to the bed floor via one of the tie downs in the bed bottom and to the trail rail at the top of the bed. Just make sure your TMatt is secured to the bed floor with that kind of weight in motion on it. Same goes for the cargo boxes. One emergency stop and it will be ugly if you don’t. You should be able to fashion a quick release system for each of the T Matt halves to allow them to slide.
