Here is why I am asking. After going through 7 trips to the dealer, out of service for 40+ days and a buy back last Friday, I test drove a new Gladiator. While the driving the ESS light popped on once, and never again. So I hooked up my obdII and it picked up a 1.00 degree test value on VVT Monitor Bank2, no other codes or misfires.
The ESS light and this reading has me concerned that I am getting an other problem child. These two issues are just some of the issues I went through on my recent surrendered Lemon. So I asked to check another new Gladiator, and it had a .83 degree test value on VVT Monitor Bank 1 and a 1.3 test value on VVT Monitor bank 2. So I thought maybe all of these new engines with these VVT's will have similar readings. So I hitched the same scanner on my 2018 Camry V-6 and both sides read 0 degrees. So my question is, to those of you who have had a good run with their Gladiators, did you every plug in your OBDII scanner and do you know what your VVT Monitor bank I and II values were? I know a lot to ask, but I had to try and ask before I buy or walk away from this second attempt at a Gladiator. Attached is the reading I got off of the new 2021 Gladiator Mohave to better illustrate what I am trying to say.
Thanks for any assistance the group can provide.
