The 4th coat has been drying about an hour. I still think I see some wet pd in the cracks so I’m gonna give it another hour to be safe. Hope this crap peels off like it does in the vids I’ve watched lol.

depends how thick you went on the coats but I usually have used 6 or so coats. I've always had it last years on emblems and such and always look good. Lasted a year or so on the wheels on my 600 whp bmw, saw some HARD abuse. still looked good as new when I peeled it to sell the car. I'm considering dipping my entire jeep with a spray gun instead of wrapping it

So here’s what’s left after peeling off. What’s the best way to clean up the J and inside the e’s and p? I’ve read toothpicks work but it’s 1145pm and I don’t have one lol.

Yea. Might have to pick some up today. I think I let it dry too much before peeling. Some articles mentioned to peel it while it’s a little wet. Gonna do the other side and see how it turns out.

Toothpicks are recommended. I had wooden kabob skewers. Making sure to apply enough coats from different angles at the same distance seemed to do the trick for me.

It peeled off much better this time. Still had a minor hiccup with some of the extra falling on the P and adhering to it. I’m leaving it as is for now.

Looks great!
I would grab that little bit off with a tweezer.

so far ive used the PD on the rear “jeep”, third brake light, taillights, rear reflectors, and the silver inserts on the grill/headlights...no complaints.

I want to do the silver bumper inserts around the fog lights white...

How "Clean" was wheels after you stripped it off? Any tips and how to on doing the wheels. I'm thinking about doing something with my OEM rims like that, the AL stock rims stick out on my Gobi to me. I know most just replace them I just don't like throwing $$ out the window.

I did my trail rated badge twice. The first time, I taped around the edges and I wasn’t happy with how it tore off. I did some reading and did it a second time. I left the job I did and added another coat, but taped further out like the OP did and tore it while it was still tacky. Much better result. I’m happy with it and another coat didn’t hurt.

The wheels were just like the day I put the dip on when I took it off. The biggest mistake people make is not putting enough coats on because they achieve the color they want and think its enough. You need a full can (if youre using aerosols) per wheel if you want it to peel correctly. not using enough isnt going to cause damage or anything its just not going to come off as easy

I'd recommend watching the "dip your car" tutorials. They break it down pretty easy. Just do a couple light coats to get a base layer for it to stick to, then you can start going with full wet layers so you get a smooth finish. A big thing too if you are doing them on the car, is roll the car back a few coats in so you are hitting from different angles

Ive watched the dyc youtube channel for years before finally trying it for myself this month. Probably the reason it came out as good as it did.

Thanks for your experience, I appreciate it. Later on I might be trying to do mine now the toss up will be color. I'm going to have to check on a tan / sand color kit to do a set of rims I think...., If I can get it and some dry weather. :like:
