My prop rod that's what! Installed a pair of Redline Tuning hood struts and very impressed with the results. I've installed them on other vehicles, but never appreciated them as much as I do on the JT because of the extra height associated with opening the hood (lift, tires etc). Cost is about $99 bucks from Amazon

You can still open your hood all the way to the windshield if desired by simply snapping the rod out of the ball socket, and re-inserting afterwards.
Installation is super-simple and only requires:
- Strut kit
- 10mm socket
- 30 mins
- 2-3 beers
