If you are like me and hate plugging in your phone for Android Auto, I am happy to report that the Motorola MA1 works as advertised and delivers excellent wireless Android Auto on the 7" screen. I have the dongle plugged in under the armrest and just a little bit after starting the car, Android Auto pops right up. I poked around on Google Maps, streamed Spotify without any issues or drops. A thumps up for Motorola.

I have one that will be delivered tomorrow. Can you confirm that the USB port in the armrest stays powered for 90 mins.

I do think it stays powered for a little bit. Like so many new cars, I don't think anything completely shuts down for a bit. I will take a look later today.

Just switched to YouTube Music from Spotify, there is a HUGE drop in sound quality with the 8.4 going from Bluetooth to USB - I mean, drastic. Have you noticed any difference in quality between Bluetooth and USB/Wireless Android Auto?

I was charging my phone and hearing aids in my truck when we lost power for almost a week. I had to keep going back out and hitting the start button to cycle things on again. They stayed on for something like 30 minutes then dropped dead.

I looked up some info on Google several months ago and Google says the reason they didn't do BT was because it didn't have the bandwidth or capabilities of the USB method, BT couldn't handle all of the data that got transferred between phone and radio. That kind of makes sense since it's doing more than simply playing music when it's TRULY in android auto mode - it's mirroring apps and screen from your phone and all other transmissions.
I was using BT to play music from Amazon on my truck a few months ago - wasn't using android auto for that.

I am only using Spotify, the quality seems the same no matter how I connect - BT, wired or wireless Android Auto. I made sure to go in to the settings on Spotify and crank the quality up.

Got mine yesterday, set up was a breeze. Make sure you go into your settings on your phone under "Connected Devices" and connection preferences and turn on the wireless setting for Android Auto.

I didn't check to see how long it stayed on but it does stay powdered after turning off the Jeep.

Not long after I set it up, I took my son to his baseball practice, about 50 minute drive. About 20 mins in my Waze was basically rebooting every few minutes. I had YouTube music playing at the same time and was plugged in using cig plug charger. The phone ran hit and about 10 mins before we hit our destination my phone was basically locked up and the MA1 locked up as well. I unplugged the MA1 and went back to the cord. Used Waze driving home without any issues.

I did plug the MA1 before leaving for leaving for work. No issues with it for the twenty minutes it took to drop off the kids at school then get to work. But was not using GPS or YT Music.

Anyone else experiencing any issues, hoping that was just a glitch.
