Has anyone installed this bed cover recently? I watched the Quadratec installation video (Oct 2019) and I like the way it looks/mounts; however, the lower hole in the front bulkhead shown in step 3 of the instructions is not threaded on my 2022 JTRD. It is just a through hole. Have they changed the way the side rails mount to the front of the bed?

So I called Rugged Ridge and after a brief hold the person I spoke to said it was a known issue and there is a fix, but he wasn't sure if I would get the right parts for my truck if I ordered the cover.

Through some additional research, it looks like the Rugged Ridge Armis Hard Folding cover is the same bed cover as the UnderCover ArmorFlex, so I called UnderCover and asked them to send me the model specific install guide for their rails. This bracket looks like it would work.

I bet that is what Rugged Ridge is sending now, but I hate to order it and get the wrong version. I can source the ArmorFlex/UltraFlex from a local shop, so I may go that route.

I remember running into an issue with mine, installed better than a year ago and my truck came with the bed liner, so I attributed my hardware problems to the liner material in the threads. I chased the holes with taps, course I have the tooling for this type of work, if not I'd been extremely discouraged. I don't recall seeing a lot of metal shavings typically found when cutting fresh threads, but there isn't much metal there either. Having said that, you can get some self tapping screws as an alternative. Good luck with the installation, mine has held up well.

I got the UnderCover Flex - same as the ArmorFlex one I mentioned above, but it has a smooth black finish on the top instead of the bedliner finish.

The UnderCover is the exact same design as the Rugged Ridge branded one. I went with the UnderCover because I was able to source it same day from a local shop.

I am happy with it.
