Something I want. Do you want it?
Goal fab/mill aluminum off-set riser/adapter plates (or source/mill an existing extrusion profiles) To make the Bak4xs compatible with the Yakima Overhaul HD's. Images below highlights an attempt from another member but isn't ideal.
The drawing.
I have no idea the measurements.. I do not have either rack or cover.. If I could get your help with measurements/cads/details from people that have the Bak4xs rolling, and/or the Yakima Overhauld HD that would be amazing. Let's get this project started! I work next to an anodizing company and access to machine shops.
Needs:
1. It's obvious the riser needs to move towards the outside of the bed rails about an ~1" for weight distribution on rails, but more so, so the plastic foot on riser does not interfere with rubber flange on rolling cover. Ideally getting your input for measurements would be amazing.
2. Raise the riser "x" amount so the plastic foot isn't so deformed but still does its job.
I cannot imagine the Bak's small t-track is strong.. but hopefully enough to manage a few kayaks../ ladders etc.
Ideally Bak would redesign the t-track so there's a heavier duty option.. avail to order. I can live without it being as flush as it is. Road trips would be great if I could feel like the gear was a bit more secure with a rolling locking cover and the versatility of removable racks and rolling cover.
