Custom insulation pad under hood

Need some help, I want to install a custom insulation pad under the hood of my JT instead of the boring black mat that is standard. I've search the oracle for internet help and didn't get a lot. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this idea; can I get some help or ideas. I mean I could just rip it out and throw in some of that god awful aluminum insulation crap but that looks ugly. Help me out Jeepers!!!

You may actually be the first person, most people are trying to delete it to make the vents functional instead.

I guess first question is what is your goal for the change? Looks apparently it is not (otherwise you would not be considering the ugly aluminum), neither is vents (obviously). Before a good answer can be provided please help with the what you are trying to accomplish.

What I want is something that provides a little clearance under the hood and maximizes the airflow. I installed an ARB air compressor and it rubs. I also want something that would allow the air vents to function, but that part is a pipe dream unless I change the hood out. So, I guess a slimed down version of what’s already there.
