Good day everyone. I found myself wondering how the Gladiator tailgate would hold up to the weight of a snowmobile when the tailgate is in the "half-up" position. A lot of riders will drive their sled in the bed skis first, then lift the rear of the sled and close the tailgate all the way. It looks crazy, but it works. I wanted to try this in the half-up position to reduce the chances of the snowmobile sliding backwards while driving. Please keep in mind that I would still use the ole ratchet straps. But I've seen a fair amount of stories about people breaking their plastic tailgate pivot brackets for the cables. Has anyone here found any aluminum brackets for sale? Or would anyone be willing to machine some?

Isn't it only rated for 500 pounds? (likely static weight, not any bounce at all)
