So part of my weekend trail damage was my steering wheel being off center and the ESC light/warning coming on. Still tracks straight when I let go of the wheel on a straight stretch so I climbed under it this afternoon to straighten the steering wheel. Made the adjustment, got ready to tighten the collar on the drag link and dang it, one of the bolts went from almost tight to spinning pretty easy....
Pulled it out replaced it with new hardware, that I luckily had available and this is the bolt that I pulled out. Not sure how well the picture shows it but the bottom 3/4 of an inch or so, the threads are flat, it's almost smooth running your fingers across it. Pretty obvious someone spun it off or on with an impact and didn't bother making sure it was threaded correctly.
This is my first time touching the bolt... I had an alignment and steering wheel re-center last week as part of my rotation at a local shop. Should I be upset?
I can't prove they did the initial damage, but they did leave it there...
