Roof Rack Suggestions

Good morning everyone. I am looking for a roof rack that will work with the overhang of my RTT. I don’t think a half rack moved forward would look all that good so I will most likely need a full rack that is easily modified to work with my setup. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

You could get creative with a Dee Zee DZ4472JL or possibly fit two of the DZ4463JP for a nearly-one-piece look.

I had the DZ4472JL on my 2-door Jeep, which it is not designed for. I didn't use the short section, I put all four cross bars on the rear section and mounted it across the freedom panels and rear hard top portion.

You could do something similar, possibly trimming the side rails down to fit the space you have. It's just extruded aluminum, so it cuts easily with a fine toothed carbide miter saw blade, bandsaw, hacksaw, etc. and you can stick the plastic end caps on after you've made the cuts and you'd never know. Though, the side rails wouldn't interfere with your tent, so you could let them go long and just start the cross bars in front of it.

Everything is t-slots, so you can slide it around to fit where you want it... the crossbars, the gutter clamps, it's all adjustable. The nice thing about this rack is it has little feet on the ends of the cross bars that take the downward force and apply it to the strong part of the hard top rather than using the gutters to support the entire weight.

You can look at the Rhino rack system. There 8s also the Rhino Rack Backbone system. That extends the roof racks capacity.

Rhino Rack BackBone with a Pioneer Platform scooched as far forward as it will go so the the RTT overhang doesn't shade the solar panels:

I can still remove the Freedom Panels (but I never will/do) and here is a shot of the amount that my RTT overhangs the cab before the rack went on to compare to yours.

You didn't say what you plan to carry on your roof rack, but before I installed the backbone system, I was just running with a gutter mount style rack from Rhino Rack that will really allow it to be set anywhere along the gutter rails. You just have to be aware that the rain gutters aren't design for a lot of dynamic load. You can see it in this pic:

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
I have chosen the rack from Motobilt. It comes in bare metal and I am going to cut it down to fit. I will weld the end back on and then have it powder coated to match my bed rack and rock rails. I will post pictures after the final install.

As promised, I selected the Motobilt full roof rack and have cut it down to fit. I feel like it is gonna work great.

Used my flat bed as a work bench. My wife and I talked about what would work best then we went to work. Ended up cutting off the back a bit then relocating the mounts so they are equally spaced. It is headed to powder in the am. Will post pics of final install.
