Hi Everyone…hope ya‘ll are enjoying the weekend so far. ☺

We finally got the hoist finished a couple weeks ago, however ….didn’t get to use it ‘start to finish’ until today.
This isn’t the cheapest setup and probably a bit ‘over-engineered’, but that’s how we roll….😉
The Gladiator just barely fits in the garage (with cabinets against the wall). It’s a bit ‘tight’ with the truck backed in….the garage door opener motor unit sits right above the jeep (first photo).

We installed a hoist rolling on a Unistrut (trolly) in the ceiling. We have just enough clearance to lift the top a bit, however…. It was too close for us to feel comfortable backing the truck in….to put the top back on. The trolly allows us to push the whole hoist/top back away from the truck and raise it up higher. We used Sign post for the bar….D-rings/eye hooks. Friction straps….. Kayak straps to attach to the top.

Sorry…photos aren’t necessarily in order…. But you get the idea.
So glad we got this done!! Let the summer begin!

Well it looks good enough. 👍
My setup is not as nice, but it's used to remove my LJ hardtop or RTT and rear shell of JT, unload stuff ect. It's 3 4x4s and 2x10s with a H.F. hand winch. Dang it reminds me I still need to move it.

Nice work. I like the low profile of the single rail in the ceiling.

where did you get the parts for the rail system? i have the exact same hoist i've just not gotten around to a mounting strategy yet.

Nice work.
I wish I'd known in advance. I think I could've saved you some steps and money by pointing you to the Hoist-A-Top parts section.
I REALLY like their design for lifting trough the slider.

I got lucky and ours fit around the door opener perfectly.

Thanks!!…. We did a lot of research and watched a lot of videos on various ways (and kits). We weren’t a fan of going thru the window….… The straps in the 4 corners (we thought) were the most secure.

The Unistrut came from Lowes…. We had to buy a 10’ section of it.

The brackets, bumpers, and chord trolly all came from Amazon.

After going back and forth for ever on what I wanted to do for a hoist I ended up taking the cheap route and buying a couple kayak hoist systems off Amazon. It's definelty not ideal for regularly putting on and taking off the top, but after the pollen ends I usually take the top off for the rest of the year until it gets cold anyway. I'm probably going to borrow some ideas from @Janster and pick up some straps instead of hooking directly to the top.

Now that I have a good storage solution (previously I've been throwing it in our guest room) I think I"m finally going to install the the Rampage Trailview soft top that's been sitting on the garage floor underneath the Jeep for a year.

This was copied from earlier…I hope it’s what you’re looking for.
Depending on what type of hoist you use…will depend on the trolly bracket.

The Unistrut came from Lowes…. We had to buy a 10’ section of it.

The brackets, bumpers, and chord trolly all came from Amazon.
