Apple Carplay iOS 26 / Apple Home compatible Garage Door devices

I am an Apple user and have a lot of my home setup to take advantage of the Home App for things like Lights, fans, water sprinklers, etc. I also have two Meross Garage door devices that allow me to open the doors with Siri or within Apple Carplay. The challenge has been that Apple never realized owners might have two garage doors, so my wife struggle as who ever uses it last is what shows up on the screen. In our case it will show Wrangler for her or Gladiator for me, I avoid using it since she doesn't have the HomeLink garage buttons.

Well the new iOS 26 (currently in beta) makes a big change that makes it easier for those with multiple garage doors in Apple Car Play. They've added the ability to swipe in the screen now, and added a page for Widgets. Now I can open either door from the widget page, as well as activate other lights/devices too.

I hear ya, I debated about it but so far so good on the beta and the fact it does this and it worked will let me bypass adding the HomeLink visor to my wife's Jeep.... hopefully.

Total apple ho and former Sr Mac Support specialist here. My home and freelance business is on HomeKit. Love that environment. Glad to see fellow gladiator owners in the Homekit ecosystem.

@MatRhymer I mostly love it, wish Apple would take it a tad more serious. Sadly some of the vendors in the HomeKit are have been absymal and support and products that "just work" (looking at Wemo and Nanoleaf), thankfully Hue has been much more solid.

I was super excited to see this new feature with the Widgets I think that's going to really open up CarPlay to a lot of options.

I'm a former Microsoft MVP, happy I went back to my Mac roots a long time ago, both home and work.
