Recall: 1M+ Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Fire Risk (June 9, 2026)

Mine isn't in recall as the pump number isn't listed. Mine is an early build 2021 sport w/max tow.

where did you have to position your phone to find the number on your pump?

Lifted the splash guard at the front and took the pic over the top of tire. I had to rotate pic.

My 2020 has a steel gearbox after the tsb was performed. I doubt that would be the reason for excessive heat. They know the reason and that is why they limited the recall to 21-25. Different vendor for the pump or the wire harness is my guess.

What is the part number on your pump? Curious if it matches my early '21 build. In an earlier post on this thread I posted a pic of mine.

They just announced it on NPR as well and are telling folks to park outside if you have a Jeep subject to recall. Apparently Stellantis are aware of “dozens of incidents, including one with injuries” they said. Yikes.

That is the steering box itself not the pump. Pump is on the other side of the bay.

Not sure why people think they are going to avoid being part of this. Thing says it affects 1m vehicles. Guess about how many Wranglers and Gladiators were sold between 2020 and 2025... Its going to be * waves hands everywhere * all of us. Now who it _functionally_ affects, who knows

Meaningless since it isn't going to be posted until the 11th! Today this 9th of June in the year 2026 exactly ZERO VINs are affected!

On a positive note, does anyone know of a gladiator just catching fire? It seems like this would be the place to hear about it if it was super common. Oh, I know it is a concern or they wouldn’t perform the recall but I am not losing sleep over this. And I am retired so taking a vehicle in for recall work isn’t nearly an inconvenient as someone that has to juggle time off of work and/or child care. Even with two gladiators, it will all be alright. The pros still outweigh the cons!
