I'd be really bummed if ours became totaled. We've owned 5 Jeeps and this one is my absolute favorite. I have no plans to sell the Gladiator, plus they no longer make the diesel. :(
We are on Jeeps #7, and #8.

Is this a cab off job? I really don't want to disassemble my aftermarket bumper winch lights and steps ..

Won't know for certain exactly what all they'll do until the actual recall fix procedure comes out (supposedly in July), but a power steering pump replacement doesn't require the cab to be removed.

Retired. Finally !!
I told my wife about this whole thing, she shrugged her shoulders then says, "If it burns, you can get a 2026, no worries.". Then she adds, "Y'think you should take the big-ass fire extinguisher out of the bed ?", then smiles.

After after a month in the dealership back in Feb/Mar and now in June.........same valvetrain issue only worse and now rod knock. I'm done with this lack of reliability.

Sad, because our '19 JLUR with a 2.0T eTorque has been great

I wouldn't be happy either. Is it still under warranty?

Thankfully it still is. Only 40,400 miles.

Ive had numerous GM trucks from new til over 300,000 miles and none of these issues. Sad, but time to move on.

My coworker wasnt as lucky. Bought a used 2019 silverado with 40-50k miles. At 70k+ miles his engine started ticking and was determined to be the dreaded lifter issue. Out of warranty and he still owed on it. He let the bank take it filed for chapter 7. It was a very nice truck.

Sorry, I can't hear them over the sounds of 2.5 million Toyota Tacomas' frames dissolving.
Is that still a thing? I’ve been out of the loop since 2015……but they’ve had frame rust issues FOREVER. My 2007 frame was replaced (photo of chassis after frame was replaced).

So we have 1,076,999 vehicles affected, 51 known fires, and an estimated 0.1% of the vehicles expected to have an actual defect. Nope, not going to lose one bit of sleep over leaving the truck in the garage.
I’m not worried either…… although, my husbands M4 next to the JT and our bed / bedroom is right above the garage….šŸ˜†

Still not worrying…...It makes me wonder if this ā€˜condition’ is worse with age & mileage. I have a 2024 with 17k miles and doesn’t get driven but maybe 3x a week. We’re about to take a trip up to Cape Cod (8 hour drive one way) on Sunday.

Wow…sounds like he should’ve never bought it in the first place. You don’t just go thru bankruptcy on a whim….. without having other underlying debt.

But then again…..I had a coworker who went thru bankruptcy twice. šŸ™„ He would openly talk about his financial endeavors like he was proud of himself for all of it. And…..the financial things he’d talk about would make me cringe. 😳

They just announced it on NPR as well and are telling folks to park outside if you have a Jeep subject to recall. Apparently Stellantis are aware of ā€œdozens of incidents, including one with injuriesā€ they said. Yikes.
Yes, there were discussions a while ago about a few trucks catching fire for an unknown reason. The p/s circuit and connector were suspected. In fact, I recall seeing a pic where some rodents actually chewed on the supply wires. I also remember a forum member's truck catching fire while driving down the road. Another caught fire after sitting for a week or so. I can't recall what to search for.

Honestly, just about any newer vehicle could have a fire--they are so intricate with a ton of sensors and wires. What ticks me off is the fact that it took a long time for Jeep to act.

Good point, my bet is it's the connector or harness, that may require cab off to un-ravel it.

I don't think so but could be wrong. When digging around under there it seems the pigtail goes from the pump to the battery, both accessible from the wheel well.

I'm thinking passenger front wheel off, fender liner removed, and then it goes from there.

If, for some reason, it's a cab off then none of these trucks will ever be the same. Too many connectors, screws, etc. Stuff will get missed, broken, and then buttoned up just enough where "hopefully they don't notice".
