Wife and I headed to ocotillo Wells would love some company. We’re going to go hit some trails / camp easy to moderate for us.

I'm not lifted yet, and can only wheel on the weekends. I do have a swb TJ Rubicon that can handle more challenging trails. I hope to have the 2" Daystar installed later next month.

I’m going to take my kids Polaris with so they will be wheeling with us. I won’t be able to do any hard trails this weekend. Hoping to just relax and admire the view and stars at night time. Should be a great view and relaxing weekend. Would be great to go see the mud caves.

I will talk to my wife about 'wheeling vs the Day of the Dead festival that she suggested. Her first question will be if we will be near a pit toilet:whatsgoingon:
I stayed at the Rob Zombie Salton Sea motel Christmas Eve 2 years ago, and I promised her we wouldn't stay there again. Not many options in the area but I can figure something out.

Ocotillo Wells is fun but Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the place to go wheeling. It's huge and best of all, off road vehicles can't run there so you won't have to watch out for kids on quads and dirt bikes and everyone else riding everything with wheels. It's desert season - watch out for everyone else because they, for sure, WON'T be watching out for you.

I always visit Shell Reef, etc. in Ocotillo Wells but I spend most of my time in A-B DSP

I haven't been to Ocotillo Wells in several years. I have done runs there with the Rubicon Owners Club and Cal4Wheel's Operation Desert Fun. Being out in the desert is fine - regardless of having to share the trails with dirt bikes and quads.

For those who don't know, Ocotillo Wells is adjacent to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park which is the largest state park in California. Lots of miles of trails and washes to explore!

One interesting feature of our JT Rubicons is the ability to record trips using the built-in GPS. I am not sure if other files can be imported to the on-board gps.

How do you use it though? I’ve recorded my trips but I’m yet to find a use for it lol. At least on my phone GPS I can go back and see it.
