Never seen it done on a gladiator or wrangler, but I kind of like it. My concern is that the rear of the panels isn't secured down. Do the tops stay in place with crosswinds or at highway speeds with all the wind/air blowing around?

The rear outboard mounts are still attached.

I've had no issue with keeping them in going highway speeds or with cross winds. They latch on all areas and the front maintains a lot of tension. Frankly it keeps me out of the sun while riding around which is ideal.

Totally thought the mounts to hold rear of freedom panels down were attached to the rear hard top piece. After reading Kevin's message I ran out and saw the mounts on roll bar. This is really great. I too don't like driving around in direct sun. I'm going to try this out.

I've heard this referred to as "Safari mode". Either way, its how I intend to spend the summer once I figure out if I'm getting a Jeep or new Bronco.

Its perfect. Wind in your hair but shade from the sun.

Sure, we can call it Safari Mode if that's what the kids are calling it these days! Maybe that vernacular would've helped me determine if this was a post worth publishing. lol

Interesting look and not meant to insult, but why not just pick up a sunshade?

Never tried with mine. Still, the best purchase I’ve made so far is a soft top.
