Tell me how much you love your OEM Sunrider made by Bestop.

I had gotten used to carrying my freedom panel bag....taking them off putting in bag, then bungie cording the bag in the bed. ( 3 kids in rear ).

Also can't imagine just thinking...hey let's take the front top off at this stoplight while we wait.

Seems awesome....do you use it constantly? I live in San Diego so seems like I would but don't wanna spend 800$ on something ill use 2x a month. Advice from an owner of one is much better advice then what I *imagine* I'd do....

Not sure I’d jump on the ā€˜best mod for my Jeep ever’ train but….. If you find yourself messing with the freedom panels every so often and wishing they were off when they are on then I’d say go for it.

Little bit different weather situation between our 319 miles but I’m thinking about putting them ON for the summer. The heat soak is real. Then again so is the convenience to throw it back at a stop light.

So I’m currently stuck between what is better for me…. Give it a few weeks and the scales will tip to overall comfort.

Your Mileage May Vary.

absolutely love my besttop! wife opens and closes it easy, takes me less than 10 mins to install. i put it on in spring and pull it off in the late fall. carryin freedom panels around is a pita. for me the besttop is the nicest mod ive done. came with excellent instructions, and hasnt leaked at all. i i did buy the heavier fabric one.

hth…if you have any questions lmk.

I've had mine for over a year and a half and use it almost everyday. It's been on through two PA winters (though I do wfh and park in a garage). I thought I'd go back to the panels for the winter, but never have, and still use it as often as I can. If I lived in San Diego, I'm sure I'd use it everyday. Only real downside is you'll probably be less prone to take the whole roof off, but taking the sunrider off and on is really not bad

Have one on my 18 Rubicon and love it. Looks great and very convenient, even here in Michigan! You should use all the time living in San Diego, well worth the $800!

Awesome replies thanks....

As far as I can tell Mopar only sells the twill version so I'll end up with that. The Bestop exterior logo just bugs me...want the truck OEM so that's my Mopar fetish.

Again thanks....ordering tomorrow....id order right now but shipping is a mother on this through the online guys. I'm gonna use the 15% off Mopar coupon and order from a local dealer. Thanks for that final push.

If you have the space to remove the hardtop why not just go soft top?

i got one off the forum and use it most of the year. The hardtop is only on for a couple months a year.

As for long term hard top storage..I don't... :/ A weekend or so yeah I can deal with it.

While I know a thief's knife can cut through a sunrider easy, I feel like a soft top is just asking for it far more. My Jeep lives in my driveway unfortunately while wife's car sleeps in the garage.

Since youā€˜re a coupon cutter, like me, fill out a Jeep credit card app at the dealer. You’ll get something like $50-100 off the Charge as a statement credit for opening and accrue 5%cash back for your charge at the dealer, plus get 6 months at 0% interest to pay off charges over $499 at the dealer. Lastly, every once in a while they will send you an offer to double your cash back if claimed at the dealer In service or product charges. …So, yep, I have a Jeep charge acct.

Their so cool I have 1 in my garage and don't have a jeep yet ( was supposed to be 3/30 but still no word 0. That's literally one of the reasons I got the jeep cause it's friggin cool . I mean how cool is a half convertible in like 15 seconds and It's a lifestyle rig so go for it ( or grab a low mile 1989 cutlass wagon in brown ) :)

I did my research you want the twill over the black diamond ( or whatever the other ones called )

I bought and installed one about a month ago. I open it every chance I get. It’s nice to have when I’m waiting in line to pick up my kids from school. I pull it closed when I’m waiting to keep from getting sunburned and throw it open as soon as the line starts to move.

I only have two complaints: now my hair is always a mess when I get to work, and the weather seems to know I installed it because it’s been mostly cold and rainy since I did.
