I am a huge fan of European convex mirrors since my days owning an Audi. Luckily, I found a Jeep OEM European convex side mirror, part number 68361977AB. Before I order it I am curious to know how I can take the mirror glass off without removing the whole mirror assembly. Does anyone known how to do this?

Subbing. This is exactly what I want to do as well. Can you confirm the part# for the both the driver and passenger side? I did a quick look up on the BAM web site and its priced under $50 which my guess is the price for only one mirror and not the pair.

I am only looking for the driver’s side. However I saved the part numbers from another thread here in the forum:

Left Side:
68361977AB
68361973AB
68361975AB
68361979AB

Right Side:
68361972AB
68361974AB

You’ll need to verify the passenger/right side to your trucks specs.

Any reason why just the driver side?
Just a personal preference I have. I find that I’ve got a large drivers side blind spot that moves depending upon the mirror angle.

After some research I was only able to find a Jeep Wrangler thread from 2011 discussing the removal process:

To remove: Pull from the top of the mirror. And then the mirror will pivot from the bottom and then just pull out.”

Not sure if this still applies.

Just got off the phone with Tasca Parts. They could not verify that the part was a direct fit (no surprise there), however the rep told me that Chrysler will allow for the part to be ordered. There is a five day backlog before it can be shipped...

I found the mirror, 68361977AB (power & heated), for $38. I ordered and hopefully will have it in hand within a few weeks. I’ll post back with pictures once it’s installed.

Just got the driver side mirror (68361977AB). My truck is in the shop so I can’t mount the mirror this week. Posting pictures for anyone interested in what it looks like.

I finally Installed the new mirror today! Super easy - just tilt the mirror all the way down using the mirror controls and then gently pull at the top of the mirror. It should pop off with ease! Unplug and reattach the two heating wires and then firmly and slowly push the new mirror onto the mount. It should snap into place. Double check by closing the door to ensure the mirror doesn’t pop off.

The outside edge of the mirror past the line provides a much needed wide angle view. I highly recommend this to anyone on the fence.

Can you get it without cyrillic? lol
I don’t know? I couldn’t find any pictures of the mirror (by the part numbers) before hand.

Update: all the part numbers listed above are for ‘export’ and have Arabic writing on them (per the FCA part descriptions)
