I have a ‘22 Rubicon that’s only a few weeks old. Dealer said the nav system is running the most up to date map, but there’s roads missing that are at least 3 years old. I can’t save a location for my work because the nav system doesn’t show the road as even existing. I know the road was built over 3.5 years ago and every other mapping system has had it in there for the last 3 years.

I know I can use my phone and plug it in, that’s what I usually do. But I’d like to be able to use the nav system on my $60k vehicle.

Does anybody know what the most updated map is? I haven’t been able to find that information to verify if my dealer was correct.

Was wondering that also, which is why I keep having to plug my phone in.

Nav system is not reliable. I tried to use it last summer for yuks and it directed me way out of my way in Montana and forced a 10+ mile backtrack when I figured out what was going on. I'm not going to use it again when Google and even Apple are better options. I know, sucks to have something we paid for that we can't use, but I would not trust it.

I dont know as much about our Jeeps nav systems, but for Lexus vehicles, they are provided the maps via a third party system. Lexus has no input on what region/area gets updated. It could be something as simple as that.

I no longer want a vehicle with built in nav when i can have carplay.

I won’t buy a new car without CarPlay anymore, it’s a deal breaker for me. It is nice to have the nav run separate from CarPlay though. I do a fair number of road trips and it’s nice to have the nav up while someone else controls the play list. I also like how the nav displays on the instrument cluster so you don’t always have to be on the nav screen.

Overall I do like the nav system in the gladiator, I just want maps that are more up-to-date

Most nav maps are out of date, except for google that update regularly. It’s controlled information from 3rd party people, not much you can do about it.
