I hate the Nav System

Maybe it is just me but I tray to type in an address and the stupid nav system does not fine the location half the time, at least by address. If I use phone number it works better but over all easer to use the car play nav.

I was trying to save some data and used it. It's borderline useless. It needs major improvements.

Android Auto and google maps, or apples version assuming you can still get google maps. Nav should be backup for google maps when you have no signal. No comparison. I'd rather just be lost than use the nav system that come from the manufacturers.

I stopped using the built in navigation due to it taking you weird routes and missing the destination multiple times, nevermind the fact that the built in interface is horrid to put in an address because you have to go state, city, street, address instead of just typing in the address. Thankfully the android auto works relatively well and then I am getting the quick charge at the same time via the USB C port (the usb c was a surprising addition that stops the need for a special car charger)

I’ve been successful inputting addresses verbally.
“123 Main Street, Houston Texas “

My big gripe is the apparent lack of the old “travel info” command that exists on my 2012 JKUR. I like the verbal interactions to repeat directions or get updated ETA while en route so I don’t have to futz with the screen at all.

I also feel they have documented the command structure rather poorly. It should be much more capable than it seems to be. The nav really could benefit from better human factors engineering.

The maps are not up to date, but I've used the Nav system many times with no issues.

FYI, if your going to an area that doesn’t have cell service and your using google maps vs the Uconnect nav. Download offline maps.

I have most of Colorado in offline maps and I use my CarPlay 98% of the time.
